Weekly Sports Update 10/15-10/20

Boys’ Cross Country (Leland Pan)

On Saturday the boys ran IHSA Regionals at Oswego East. The team finished last and they concluded their season.

Girls’ Cross Country (Madison McCalley)

On Saturday this past week, the girls ran at the IHSA Regionals held at Oswego East. Junior Emily Kohlberg and freshman Keeley Behr both qualified for sectionals. They will race this Saturday.

Football (Nate Burleyson)

The football team fell 14-0 in the Eola Bowl against Waubonsie. The loss means the team finishes 1-8 for the second consecutive year.

Hockey (Nate Burleyson)

The varsity team played Oak Park River-Forest on Saturday, winning 4-2. On Sunday they faced off against Lyons Township, winning 4-0.

Boys’ Soccer (Nate Burleyson)

The varsity soccer team competed in the IHSA regional this past week. On Tuesday, they beat Plainfield North 1-0. For the championship on Saturday, they fell to Oswego in penalties, 2-1. The team concluded their season.

Girls’ Swim and Dive (Madison McCalley)

On Saturday at the Varsity Mustang Invite, sophomore McKenna Stone broke both the 50 and 100 free pool record. The girls’ next meet is the DVC Conference at Neuqua this weekend.

Girls’ Tennis (Leland Pan)

Over the weekend, three Metea players competed at state. Meera Baid played singles and went 3-2, and Abbey Woods and Taylor Goldman competed in doubles also going 3-2. They concluded their season.

Girls’ Volleyball (Madison McCalley)

This past week on Tuesday, varsity played Neuqua and fell in 3 sets. On Thursday, varsity played Waubonsie and lost in 2 sets. Playoffs start this Monday and the first game is at the Naperville North regional and the girls play Lemont High School.
