How did you decide you wanted to become a senior pep MC for next year?

I really enjoy being a part of BG Stampede and Pep Crew, and I find it very fun being in front of a big group. I love school spirit. I think football games and pep assemblies are super fun, they’re the most fun thing about high school. I wanted to become an active member of planning that and being a part of that.

What do you think is a quality that an MC need to have?

They have to be outgoing, have a lot of energy, and have a lot of spirit. It can be very scary being in front of a large audience, so you have to be outgoing and not care what other people think, or else you wouldn’t be a successful MC.

What are you looking forward to most about being an MC?

Just being a leader and being able to organize and have a big say in what happens at school events like football games and pep assemblies. I think that I have a lot of good ideas, and it will be easy to share them being an MC.

Is there anything you’re nervous for being an MC?

I think I’m nervous for that first pep assembly, I think it’s going to be really different, having all those lines, and speaking in front of all those people. But I think it will be fun.

What’s your favorite memory of school spirit, like an event or assembly?

Probably when we stormed the field in the [Naperville] North game this football season. It was so fun and I got a great feeling and sense of school pride. It made me feel prideful to be a Mustang.

What’s your favorite class theme the Class of 2015 has ever done?

I think by far my favorite was the College GameDay. I thought that was fun because we got all the props that really made it come together.

What does school spirit mean to you?

It’s something to look forward to and have pride in. You’re going to the school for four years, it’s where you spend the biggest amount of your time. It’s a big part of my life. It makes the environment of school so much better and it make things happier. It gives a better atmosphere if students have school spirit.

I agree with my fellow students that Keegan Reilly should be the next Mustang of The Week, he was a complete beast this weekend. He scored 9 goals against are rivals Nequa Valley. He got a triple hat trick for goodness sake. This win helped the team win the Nequa hosted tournemant.
