Humans of Metea: Rachel Sheridan

Senior Rachel Sheridan has been modeling for almost a year now. She can be seen modeling for the CG3 company, and has had shoots with many other freelance photographers.

How did you get into the modeling business?
My best friend models, and she encouraged me to give it a shot. I’m grateful for her, because without her, I probably wouldn’t have ever really gone for it.

What kind of modeling jobs do you do?
Instagram is a huge base for photographers nowadays. It’s really blown up in the last year or so, and lot of the time I will get contacted through Instagram asking to shoot, which is fun, because I get the opportunity to work with a variety of different people and styles.

What do you usually do during a shoot?
For what happens during a shoot, it really depends on the type of shoot I am doing. Sometimes the photographer will have a theme and a ‘role’ you are going to play for that particular shoot. So in that case, I will act as if I am that character for the time we are shooting and really step outside my comfort zone, and those type of shoots are a blast. But they will also just want to shoot me for me, so in those cases, there’s a lot of goofing around and really just having a good time.

What will you do in the future with modeling?
As for modeling in the future, I’m really just going with the flow of it. I’m having a blast with it now and I’m starting to have more and more opportunities, so I guess I’ll just have to see what the future holds.

What kinds of things has modeling led you to do?
I meet the most amazing people through modeling. Whether it’s the photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and even other models, I meet the most incredible people. I love hearing about people’s life stories and all the amazing things they have experienced. And as far as travelings, it’s so much fun going to different places. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be far. For example, maybe a shoot in a set in a little town close by that I have never been in. I just got back from Miami for a four day shoot, and we went to some really sick places. It’s awesome being introduced to new adventures through it.
