King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, “Infest the Rats’ Nest” 9/10
King Gizzard has long left behind the idea of genre. The band has taken on everything from jazz to now thrash metal. Using the same environmentalist themes of their last full length album “Fishing for Fishies” the Australian rock band takes the listener into an epic space odyssey covering the future of the Earth. Sometimes when a band attempts a new genre it takes to come off a bit forced or abnormal. King Gizzard however has a clear understanding of thrash metal as they create one of the best metal albums of the decade period. Despite its short runtime “Infest the Rats’ Nest” is a perfect starting stone into the world of King Gizzard and a metal dream for any rock fan.
