Slipknot, “We Are Not Your Kind” 6/10
For those of us who haven’t left our nu metal phase, Slipknot has finally released their new album. Following the immensely disliked fifth album, “5: The Gray Chapter”, Slipknot had to bring their win their fans back. The nu metal group is one of the best of their time with the best nu metal album, “Iowa”. Despite their very over the top presentation and style, the music is some of the most easy to listen in the metal scene. This new album is a return to the days of Iowa as Slipknot takes a step back from their fifth album and does a grand return to form. With their absolutely raging first track, the band brings out a long unseen energy that lasts throughout the entire album. While there’s definitely some weird and bad moments that you get with nu metal scattered across the record, the upsides completely outdo the downsides as Slipknot sets a good look for their future projects.
