Tropical F*ck Storm, “Braindrops” 9/10

TFS shows why rock isn’t dead in their sophomore album. It is hard to define what style TFS is actually attempting to use in this album but most of the songs tend to fall into the punk world of rock. With depressive vocals mixed with an over the top instrumental, “Braindrops” takes note of bands like LCD Soundsystem and even Black Sabbath in some of the most creative and poignant songwriting of this year. The lyricism is also very strong as their songs dive into the plight of the modern world with a level of detail that avoids the pitfalls that many pop songs often end up falling in. Political, angry, and an absolute madness to listen to, Braindrops is everything punk fans have been waiting for since the late 90s.
