Number 2 (ナンバーツー) by Takuto:
This song is upbeat and anxiety-inducing at the same time. Something is off about it from the start, and I think that it is really interesting. The song is upbeat, but the lyrics are wretched and abhorrent. The chorus being a chanted repetition of “inferiority; jealousy; please dispose of me” seems odd or out-of-touch in western music, but to me the language difference also leads to mistranslation which also questions the legitimacy of the translation and if it took the intention and possible figurative language that might’ve been used into consideration.
