METEA MEDIA

e-Learning & Tech Support

E-LEARNING INFORMATION:

Your teachers and the other adults in your life are here to support you and help you continue your academic experience as normally as possible in this unusual time, but expect that this will look and feel different.

All of the district’s information and messages about the closure of school and COVID-19 are housed in one location here.

Extended eLearning: March 18-27
Spring Break: March 30-April 3
Remote Learning: April 7-April 30

KEEP CALM, AND CHECK GOOGLE CLASSROOM AND EMAIL:

  • You must take the time to check your Google Classroom and district email account at least once a day on the day that your class period meets, if not more. (see schedule to the right)
  • Check Metea Media daily for updates, tips and information. We will be sending out regular updates that will keep you informed of any changes. Only rely on information about eLearning you get directly from IPSD 204 sources, not social media.
  • It’s critical to check your email for messages from your teachers.Checking your email and Metea Media is the best way to ensure you won’t miss anything.
  • Know that this is a new experience for everyone, adults included. Be patient, kind and understanding with each other. Reach out to your teacher or counselor if you are struggling or have questions.

PACE YOURSELF AND PLAN YOUR TIME:

  • Make a daily schedule for yourself for work, play and rest.
  • Communicate with your teachers and peers.
  • Use collaboration software to communicate. Your teachers will give you more information about this in the coming days.
  • If you are confused or have questions, email your teachers. Teachers will be checking email regularly during normal school hours.

ACCESS TECH HELP:

  • Please refer to this Troubleshooting Guide on how to fix some common problems with Chromebooks including password retrieval, Zoom call and genaral Chromebook problems.
  • Technical support is available to you by emailing your question to  [email protected]

TAKE CARE OF YOUR MENTAL & PHYSICAL HEALTH:

  • We know that this time can be confusing and unsettling.  In addition to coursework, take this time to focus on their mental and physical well-being, also.
  • As much as possible, stick to a routine during the day, including maintaining a healthy sleeping and eating schedule.
  • Stay informed from credible sources and avoid over-saturating with news and updates.
  • Look for ways to still stay connected socially by phone or video calling; even though this is a time of social distancing, social interactions are important to our mental health and development.
  • Stay active, such as by running, walking, or biking outside or following along with yoga or cardio workouts on YouTube.
  • If you are struggling during this time and would benefit from talking to a trusted adult, contact your guidance counselor or social worker.  Or you can submit a Warmline Request and someone from the guidance staff will get back to you.
  • For more information and other tips on how to stay healthy, please refer to this eLearning Resource for Well-Being
