Burn Him Down by The Kitsch Club

Woodsy Owl is one of the United States Forest Service’s lesser-known official mascots, often used to discourage littering and encourage keeping forests clean. However, Woodsy is a branded mascot, and many mascots share a curious trait: when they are outdated or showing signs of wear, they must be destroyed beyond recognition before they are discarded. This way, people cannot get the costume secondhand and do dubious things with it without the company’s approval. This becomes very ironic in Woodsy’s case. It is instructed by the USFS that all old Woodsy costumes be incinerated, which is the exact kind of pollution the character was made to combat. This is a fun, cheery, and rather nostalgic that takes the bizarre mental image of a cartoon owl costume being ritually incinerated in the forest and absolutely runs with it in the best way possible.
