Coney Island by Taylor Swift and The Nationals

Coney Island by Taylor Swift and The Nationals

The album Evermore by Taylor Swift allowed her to take one more step into the Alternative/Indie genre. It was full of imagery that allowed the listener to envision the settings of the songs perfectly. Although the whole album was wonderful, one song that stands out the most to me is “Coney Island”. The use of specific words truly allows the listener to feel the atmosphere of the song. The line “and when I got into the accident the sight that flashed before me was your face” really sums up the intent of the song and the heartbreak they are feeling. This song makes the listener want to travel to New York and get on the ferris wheel.
