‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’ by Jeff Buckley
This is one of the best songs ever written or performed. The lyricism is some of the best I have ever heard and Jeff Buckley sings this song like no one else can. When people discuss this song, they always mention the lyric “it’s never over, she is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever,” which is undoubtedly beautiful. Another lyric that outshines this one though is “so I’ll wait for you, love, and I’ll burn, will I ever see your sweet return?” This song is an angsty and soulful classic. It is one of the most heart-wrenching and loving songs that I have ever heard, and I will definitely be listening to it this Valentine’s Day.
