Weekly Sports Update: Winter Break
Girls’ Basketball (Kellie Foy)
The girls played at Glenbard North on Jan. 4, winning 41-31. The girls finished the Oswego East Holiday Tournament with a win over West Chicago and ended the tournament with an overall record of 2-2. The girls play at home against Lake Park on Tuesday, and at Neuqua on Saturday.
Boys’ Basketball (Kellie Foy)
The varsity team played at home on Friday against rival Waubonsie Valley, winning 53-50. The boys played at home on Saturday against Lake Park, winning 54-40. The boys play at Wheaton Warrenville South on Thursday.
Special Olympics (Kellie Foy)
Special Olympics has a game on Wednesday.
Dance (Kellie Foy)
The team has its DuPage Valley Conference competition on Jan. 11 at Wheaton North.
Girls’ Gymnastics (Myra Bajwa)
The gymnastics team competed against Glenbard South on Dec.22 and Naperville North on Jan. 4. On Wednesday, the team travels to Lake Park to face off against Glenbard North and Lake Park.
Bowling (Myra Bajwa)
Bowling had a busy break, going up against Plainfield South, Oswego East, and Waubonsie, and competing at the Reavis Varsity Tournament on Dec. 26. Their busy schedule continues this week, as they bowl against Romeoville on Monday, Lake Park on Tuesday, Neuqua on Thursday, and at the Fenton-Fred Green Invite on Saturday.
Hockey (Myra Bajwa)
Over break, the varsity hockey team lost to St.Viator and the AWFM Renegades on Dec. 26, fell to Wheaton West on Dec.27, lost to Naperville North and beat Lincolnway during the first week on January. JV played against Wheaton West and Glenbard. Next weekend, both teams play against Wheaton West at All Seasons.
