Homecoming Week [Alexandra Guckel]
This year’s homecoming theme is ‘Tango with the Turtles,’ and students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of spirit activities throughout the week. There will be activities during lunch and after school, which will create an opportunity for students to participate in their school’s spirit. During the day, students will also be able to follow a variety of themes. The spirit themes for everyday are as following:
Monday: Homecoming shirt
Tuesday: Jersey Day
Wednesday: Beach Day
Thursday: Pajama Day
Friday: Fr-Black, Soph-Gold, Jr-USA, Sr-Neon
Music [Jessica Velazquez]
The Marching Mustangs performed the halftime show at Northwestern University during their football game this past Saturday. There was a total of 2,700 musicians that performed from different high schools around the area. Also the Tri-M Honor Society will be hosting their induction ceremony for music students at Metea Valley high school this Tuesday.
Eco Club [Isabella Villalobos]
The MVHS Eco-club will be spending three Saturdays from 9am-12pm where students, parents, and teachers are welcome. Students will receive service hours where they help preserve trees and clean the wildlife hands-on. Those willing to participate have to sign up on the google form sheet (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSesYK5gRG1oz4T1iMhkglkhYjwP09mx8q0du6LGYi4IaQzZ6Q/viewform) so the club knows the number attending.
Mustang Comedy [Claire Baffes]
Last week, Mustang Comedy hosted its open auditions for improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy. Starting this week, they will be hosting open rehearsals every Friday from 2:45 to 5:00. Feel free to come and see what Mustang Comedy’s all about! Also, some returning students went to Batavia High School for “Yes… And!” Fest last Sunday.
