Weekly Sports Update 9/20-10/6
Boys’ Golf (Jose Collado)
The boys shot a total score of 321 at the DuPage Valley conference on Wednesday. Arjun Vyas was the low scorer of the day with a 75. The team placed fifth, concluding the regular season for the Mustangs. They are playing IHSA Regionals today.
Girls’ Cross Country (Alex Bedore)
The girls’ cross country team competed in the St. Charles North Invite. The girls’ next meet will be the Twilight cross country race on Wednesday, and the West Aurora meet on Saturday.
Boys’ Cross Country (Tyler Perry)
The boys’ cross country team ran at the St. Charles North Invite in Leroy Oakes on Saturday. Senior John Burns was able to make the top 25 in their race. The Mustangs will continue their season at the Twilight meet this Wednesday. They will start at 4:30 p.m. at Naperville North.
Girls’ Golf (Tyler Perry)
The Mustangs went to the DuPage Valley Conference last Tuesday at Phillips Park Golf Course. The team placed fifth overall and will be playing IHSA Regionals on Thursday.
Boys’ Football (Alex Bedore)
The football team played against Naperville North last Friday. The Mustangs put up 21 points against the Huskies, but it was not enough as the Huskies won the game. The Mustangs play at home against rival Nequa Valley on Friday.
Boys’ Soccer (Jose Collado)
The boys pulled off a 2-1 win against Neuqua on Tuesday. The game was played on Senior Night. The winning effort came from Abraham Antar, who had a free-kick goal and an assist. The boys play again today at the WarStang Invite.
Girls’ Swim and Dive (Elena Buscher)
The girls started the week by winning the duel meet against Lake Park. Over the weekend, they had competed at the DGS swimming and diving invitational placing 4th overall. Their next meet is on Tuesday at Naperville North.
Girls’ Tennis (Leland Pan)
The Mustangs secured a 5-2 win against the Warriors last Thursday. The girls continued their week had the Naperville North Invitational last Saturday. Single players played at Metea and doubles players went to Naperville North. Seniors Taylor Goldman and Isabella Palm placed first in doubles. Juniors Meera Baid placed first and Mayling Alonso placed third in singles. The Mustangs will be playing in the DuPage Valley Conference on Friday.
Girls’ Volleyball (Elena Buscher)
The Mustangs started the week with a game against Naperville North, losing in two sets. The following day, they lost to Naperville Central also in two sets. On Thursday, they hosted the Dig Pink game and fell short to Neuqua Valley in three sets. Their next game is on Tuesday at Waubonsie Valley.
