How is freshman year going so far?
It’s really good, I like how much freedom you have in high school. All the homework is starting to kick in, but I like it so far.
Were you nervous about anything?
The first day I was really nervous about getting lost, and I did, but now I think I know where I am going.
What are you excited for this year?
I am really excited for football games, pep assemblies, and the rest of tennis season.
How do you feel being a freshman on a varsity sport?
I think it’s awesome. My sister was on the team three years ago, so I kind of already knew the coach. I think it’s a really awesome opportunity to be on it my first year of high school. There is another freshman who is one of my good friends, so that makes it a little bit more comfortable for me.
How have you gotten to know the older players?
I’ve gotten to know them really well, I knew two of them from a camp we all went to last summer; They have been really nice and helpful to me.
How are you feel about playing in your first high school tennis match at the varsity level?
I’m really excited. I’m nervous, but I think it will be really fun. I’ve been in a lot of other tournaments and they can get nerve racking, but they’re always fun in the end. I’m excited to see if I’ll be playing doubles or singles for the match.
Are you planning on joining anything else other than tennis?
I think I am going to join Young Life and if it works with tennis, I want to help out with Special Olympics because I coached in middle school.
