Boys’ Basketball
The Mustangs struggled this week to find their footing. On Monday, the team fell to Bartlett and Glenbard East at the annual Martin Luther King tournament. Following three days of practice, the Mustangs lost at home to Glenbard North 65-76. With an 8-12 record overall and a 3-5 record in conference, the team looks to rebound in a rematch against Neuqua Valley on Tuesday. In their previous matchup, the Mustangs lost 83-84 in an overtime thriller. This time around, the team looks to shut down D-1 commit Jacob Cushing who had 30 points in the last game.

Last week, the Mustangs (5-3) fell to the Glenbard North Panthers (8-0) Friday night, 41-23. Varsity has a long week of preparation before they compete in their conference meet at Naperville Central on Saturday. “Moving into the tournament as a team we are trying to stay healthy and get as much practice as possible,” senior David Veitch said. “Also, we will going up against teams that we have beat and have lost to, so we will spend a lot of time breaking down film and working on things we need to improve on as a team and individually,” he added.

Boys’ Swimming
Boys’ swimming competed in the Downer’s Grove South Invite this past Saturday, placing third overall. Kevin Kluge placed fourth in the 200 freestyle event, both the medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay placed third in their respective events, and Robert Wang placed second in the 200 IM. Bringing home the championship for his event was Alex Dillman, placing first in the 100 fly event.

Girls’ Bowling
This week, the Mustangs came up short against Downer’s Grove North (2429-2461), and lost to Romeoville and Plainfield North. Senior Alexis Dowell was the lead scorer in the matchup against Downer’s Grove South, and shot a 601 series. This upcoming week will be relatively calm, with Plainfield Central on Monday and the Leyden Invite Saturday.
