Junior Riley Holmer recently competed in a pageant nearby that was closely connected to a generous charity.
What was the pageant all about and why did you do it?
This was the first time I’ve competed in a pageant, so I didn’t know what to expect. The pageant allowed me to form relationships with so many amazing girls that I still talk to today. It was an opportunity to build my confidence, challenge myself and experience something different. The pageant works closely with the foundation Warriors for Ross, which raises money to give families whom have someone battling leukemia.
What got you into pageants?
This past summer, I was lucky enough to attend the FBI Youth leadership program in Quantico, Virginia. Through this, I learned to push myself out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try other experiences that would do the same. I thought this would be a great opportunity to do something different and see what opportunities could come from it.
Have you done anything else like this for charities?
This was the first time I’ve worked so close with a charity and it is definitely something I want to continue in the future.
What are some of your other hobbies?
Between working, volunteering, school, and modeling, there isn’t much time for anything else, but when I do find time, I enjoy working out!
