Bowling raises money for St.Jude at the annual Strike Out Cancer event
The bowling team competed with Waubonsie, Neuqua, and Naperville North to raise money for St.Jude Children’s Hospital yesterday evening. The Strike Out Cancer bowling event involves schools from all over the area and aims to help childhood cancer patients by donating money to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This is Metea’s third year participating in the event.
“I think the event is important because there are a lot of people out there who don’t have the resources to pay for their medical bills and this is a great way to make some money for them and help them out with the cost of their treatment,” senior Bhavya Jayashankar said.
Metea played against Neuqua while Waubonsie and Naperville North teamed up for the cause. At the end of the night, the team scored a 899 but ultimately lost to Neuqua. The night overall was successful as they raised money for childhood cancer research.
