Weekly Sports Update 4/23-4/29
Baseball (Myra Bajwa)
Varsity beat Naperville North 10-1 on Monday. The team won 11-9 against Waubonsie on Tuesday, lost 3-4 on Wednesday, and won 8-4 on Thursday, winning the series. On Saturday, Varsity beat Lake Park 6-5. Next week, the team plays Lake Park, Naperville Central, and Wheaton Warrenville South.
Softball (Myra Bajwa)
Varsity fell to Wheaton Warrenville South on Monday with a score of 3-5. On Tuesday, the girls beat Wheaton North 8-2 and won 7-1 against Glenbard North on Wednesday. Next week, the team plays Neuqua, Naperville North, Naperville Central, and Waubonsie.
Girls’ Track (Myra Bajwa)
The girls track team competed at Wheaton Warrenville South on Tuesday and travelled to New Trier on Saturday. At New Trier, varsity placed 10th overall and JV finished with second as a team. Next week, the team will compete at
Ultimate Frisbee (Myra Bajwa)
The Varsity Ultimate Frisbee team won their games last Wednesday, 13-4 over St. Charles North, and 13-0 over Waubonsie. They look forward to games against Batavia and Conant on Wednesday at Stuart Sports Complex in Montgomery.
Girls’ Lacrosse (Nate Burleyson)
Last Wednesday, the Girls’ lacrosse team fell to Naperville North. Then on Thursday, they beat Fremd 18-1.
Boys’ Volleyball (Nate Burleyson)
The Varsity team took on Willowbrook in a non-conference matchup last Thursday. They took both sets, 25-19 and 27-25.
Boys’ Water Polo (Nate Burleyson)
The Boys’ took home the St. Charles North tournament championship for the second year in a row on Saturday. The Junior Varsity team beat Neuqua 8-6 on Saturday.
Girls’ Water Polo (Nate Burleyson)
Last Thursday the Varsity team bet Hinsdale Central on Senior night. This week, they travel to Hersey on Tuesday and Riverside-Brookfield on Thursday.
Rugby (Connor Smith)
The D2 High School Boys continued to stay undefeated, earning a 32-7 win over the Naperville Warriors. The boys will continue training this week in preparation for their next match, which is this Thursday against West Suburban.
Special Olympics (Connor Smith)
Special Olympics participated in the annual Spring Games meet at Marmion Academy this past Sunday to conclude the track and field season. Bowling season will begin today, with practices being held Mondays and Tuesdays at Parkside Lanes in Aurora for the next three weeks. The season will ultimately end with a tournament on May 17.
Boys’ Lacrosse (Connor Smith)
Boys’ Lacrosse fell to the Geneva Vikings on the road in a well-fought 10-13 loss last Monday.
