The “Boys will be Boys” article is possibly the worst article in the Stampede I have even read. I sincerely wish I hadn’t wasted my time and read it but I did, and now I’m wasting more time. I have not once in 17 years of being alive ever heard that charges were dropped against a rapist because of the “boys will be boys clause”. No one says that about any boy over the age of 8. Sexual assault is awful and rape is even worse and if I had my way, we’d castrate every rapist so long as there is EVIDENCE that he is guilty. The Me Too movement has evolved past raising awareness about sexual harassment and assault (especially in Hollywood) to ‘believe all women’ and claiming that if you don’t support them that you are a misogynist rape apologist that hates women and only believes men. That is a very dangerous statement and poses a clear threat to justice in America. We firmly believe in innocent until proven guilty, but these new movements have evolved to guilty if a woman said so. I want to believe someone that said they were raped, but I also want to believe the person who said they’re innocent. So when the woman says that someone raped/assaulted her with NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER, of course I’m not going to believe the person accusing rape over the person who claims innocent more and you shouldn’t. Stop calling someone who accuses someone of sexual misconduct a victim inherently, because that’s not always true, they are an accuser, they are not a victim until the court rules as such. Boys are not encouraged to act wildly and recklessly, in fact, they are often scorned for acting on natural inclination at a young age. Boys tend to be more energetic at a young age (of course not always but I’d argue that that is the case the majority of the time) and so when they are allowed to move and play they will be more “violent” and “reckless” as a result of their pent up energy. Boys will be boys refers to the natural inclination of young boys to be, as you said, wild, NOT AS AN EXCUSE FOR ILLEGAL AND DESPICABLE BEHAVIOR. To act as though women are still mistreated in this country is merely the exploitation of anecdotal events. If you want to look at a place where women are actually mistreated, go to Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, Pakistan, or any other place in the Middle East or Africa especially if Sharia Law is practiced there. Many of these places believe that if a woman is your wife, you can’t technically rape her. A women’s account in court is worth a fraction of a man’s. But where is the Me Too movement crying about these ACTUAL misogynists and sexists and rapists are acting everyday in these places? No where, because they just want to be lazy and not be held accountable and whine about misogyny in the most free and equal country in the history of ever. You’d think the U.S. was one of the worst countries in the world with all their false statistics like one in four women is raped ( it’s actually one in every several thousand). Thank you and have a wonderful day.

man, you ever think about how sometimes people in the metea media comments section cannot clearly summarize their thoughts without making it a wall of text?

@darkstripe, Jort is correct, the issues expressed because of this article cannot be simply summarized due to the fact that bias and predispositions are some of the most prevalent societal problems seen today. His opinion involves many factors, so don’t expect him to lower the quality of his argument by removing his factors.

@darkstripe what’s the problem with it? not everything can just be summarized into 3 sentences. Sometimes you comment a lot, so why can’t jort? Show me where it is written that for you to have an opinion you have to be able to write it in a couple of sentences.
