Get to know the mini Mustangs of Metea’s preschool course

Metea Valley’s student body isn’t just limited to high school students- but extends to a class of about 20 rowdy preschoolers as well. You may recognize the students from their Trick or Treating outing around Metea in the fall.

The preschoolers are from the district, which means that they are all future Mustangs, Warriors, or Wildcats. They come in on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from periods 3-5. Metea students can interact with the preschoolers in the Preschool Course, where students get to teach the preschoolers. The only prerequisite for this semester long junior/senior class is taking Child Development 1, which is also a semester long course.
“About 40% of my high school students want to go into education of some sort, another 40% want to go into the medical field (therapist, nurse, doctors with a focus on pediatrics), and the rest of my students are undecided” Sally O’Rourke, the Mini Mustang teacher, said.
