Weekly Sports Update 12/10 – 12/15
Girls’ Basketball (Leland Pan)
The varsity team played against Plainfield North on Tuesday, dominating with a total score of Metea 46-41. Saturday the girls played against Plainfield South High School, falling short to the Cougars 24-35. Their next game will be Oswego v. Joliet Central over at Oswego High School at 10 a.m.
Boys’ Basketball (Nate Burleyson)
The varsity team traveled to Plainfield North on Tuesday and won 60-55. On Friday they took on last years DVC champions Naperville North, falling 67-56. The team is 6-4 on the season and will compete in the Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament over winter break.
Hockey (Nate Burleyson)
The varsity team took on Maine last Friday, winning in a shootout 4-3. They also faced Sandburg last night and won 7-2. The team is 14-1 on the season and are in second place in the Illinois West Standings. The team takes a break and starts back up on Jan. 3 against Naperville Central.
Wrestling (Nate Burleyson)
The wrestling team hosted their senior night last Friday against Naperville North. They then competed in the Marist quad meet on Saturday facing off against Andrew, Marist, and Joliet West. The team will continue to practice and compete over the break.
Boys Swim and Dive (Leland Pan)
The Mustangs attended the Neuqua Valley Invite on Friday. The varsity team will have their next meet against Lake Park on Saturday next week at 10 a.m.
Bowling (Madison McCalley)
Last week, the Mustangs had matches on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Monday, varsity played a match against Plainfield East. Varsity fell against Plainfield East by 200 pins. On Wednesday, varsity played Waubonsie. Varsity won over the Warriors and they were led by Bella Tiffany and Bae Paves with a 507 and 504 series. On Thursday, varsity took home a win over Naperville North after many great performances. The Mustangs do not have any matches next week.
Gymnastics (Madison McCalley)
The Mustangs have a competition on Friday vs Glenbard South
Cheerleading (Madison McCalley)
This past week, varsity had a competition at Belvidere North. Varsity placed 6th in the competition.
