Girls’ Basketball (Jose Collado)
The team’s season ended after a 46-68 loss to Bolingbrook in the regional semifinals. Chloe Kurkjian, Jada Samuels, Nyla Hart, and Khaliah Reid all competed in the three-point shootout. Hart advanced to the sectional round of the shootout scheduled for next week.
Boys’ Basketball (Tyler Perry)
The boys’ basketball team had two games last week. Nazareth Academy came to Metea and the Mustangs prevailed to a score of 61-57. The Mustang’s last game of the regular season, they faced Neuqua and lost 31-62. The Mustangs will go up against the Warriors on Wednesday.
Bowling (Tyler Perry)
Throughout the whole season, the bowling team fought their way into IHSA State. This season’s team is the first team to make it to IHSA State since 2014. On Saturday, they did not come out of their matches with a win, but Alicia Anton was able to finish 49th in the state.
Boys’ Hockey (Elena Buscher)
The Warriors faced off against Maine this weekend in the best two of the three tournaments for Sectionals. On Friday, the Warriors fell short, finishing with a score of 1-2. After a narrow win, the Warriors took the win with a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Warriors faced off in the final game of the tournament yesterday. The boys fell short 0-1.
Mens’ Track and Field (Tyler Perry)
The Mustangs took part in the Greg Foster Invite this past Saturday. The varsity team came in second place out of all the schools that participated. In the 200m Dash, Virgil Steward came in third place. In the 200m Hurdles, Sricharan Sanakkayala came in second place. Jake Pauline finished second in Shot Put and the Mustangs were the third-fastest team in the 4×200 relay. Their next meet is Saturday at Hononegah.
Girls’ Track and Field (Jose Collado)
The team competed in the Greg Foster Invitational on Saturday. Their next meet is Friday at Hinsdale Central.
Boys’ Swim and Dive (Elena Buscher)
The swim and dive team competed at the IHSA Sectional tournament This Saturday. At the meet, numerous swimmers placed and are advancing to the State tournament. The State qualifiers are freshman Jaedden Gamilla in the 200 IM, junior Jeddrick Gamilla in the 100 Breast, and the 200 Medley Relay. Their next meet is the IHSA State tournament starting on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
