It was a fun pep rally, but the orchesis partner dance was culturally inconsiderate. As a Latina that grew up to Latin music and different Latin dances, I felt uncomfortable and outraged. I know they probably meant no harm, but to many Latinos, dance is a special part of their culture. Having a bunch of white girls attempting salsa and what looked like merengue and cha-cha, just made me feel like they were making fun of my culture. Next time, they should research how to do cultural dances before attempting them and maybe include a few Latinos.
