Weekly Sports Update 10/20-10/26

Keeley Behr and Sarah Maggio help finish off the fall sports season with impressive performances.

Boys’ Cross Country (Max Berglind)

The boys’ cross country team had regionals scheduled at Oswego East for their final match of the year. Sadly Metea could not compete in it due to a member testing positive for COVID-19.

Girls’ Cross Country (Tyler Perry)

The girls’ cross country team raced in regionals last Saturday. The Mustangs finished in sixth place with the Huskies leading the way for all teams. Junior Keeley Behr led Metea with a time of 19:05.4.

Girls’ Swim and Dive (Grace Davidson)

The girls’ swim and dive had their sectionals meet at Metea this Saturday, and Sophomore Amanda Schmitt qualified for state.

Tyler Perry

Tyler is the Copy Editor for Metea Media. This is his third year with the Stampede and was previously a Reporter and Editor for the sports section. When Tyler is alone he prefers to listen to music or take part in a game of basketball. When he is with friends, he likes to spend his time enjoying the outdoors through activities like biking or exploring the city.

Max Berglind

Max Berglind is a senior and this is his second year on staff. He is a sports Reporter and loves watching football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. When he is not writing for the Stampede, he enjoys playing baseball, running cross country, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

Grace Davidson

Grace is a junior and this is her second year on the Stampede. This year Grace is the sports editor, embracing the leadership role to report on all things sports. Grace found her love of sports playing soccer and basketball. In her freetime she likes to do creative writing and reading. Grace also enjoys hanging out with her close friends and playing board games.
