Weekly Sports Update 4/12-4/19

Boys’ Baseball (Max Berglind)
The baseball team had four out-of-conference matchups last week, going 1-3. They start conference games this week with a three-game series against DeKalb.
Boys’ Football (Max Berglind)
The football team played their second to last game of the season last Friday. Metea went up against the undefeated Central Redhawks team and could not compete. The game finished with a score of 42-7. The Mustangs will play their final regular-season game at Neuqua this Friday.
Girls’ Lacrosse (Max Berglind)
Girls’ lacrosse, starting this week, has three games this week against Geneva, Wheaton-Warrenville South, and Saint Charles East.
Boys’ Soccer (Tyler Perry)
The boys’ soccer team played their final match of the regular season last week. Metea played Central in a close DVC matchup. The Redhawks scored first but the Mustangs scored two unanswered goals to get the win.
Girls’ Soccer (Grace Davidson)
The girls lost their game against Wheaton North 4-1 this past Thursday. However, they scored a 2-0 win against Conant in the Pepsi Challenge this past weekend. They will go against DeKalb on Thursday and against Charles North on Saturday.
Girls’ Softball (Max Berglind)
Girls’ softball went 3-1 in games last week, their only win coming against West Chicago. They begin conference games this week against Neuqua and Waubonsie, including a game against Batavia.
Boys’ Tennis (Max Berglind)
Boys’ tennis had their first matchup against Wheaton North last week. They will face off in four matches against Saint Charles East, Geneva, Lincoln Way East, and DeKalb.
Girls’ Volleyball (Grace Davidson)
The girls beat Neuqua in two sets and showed great defense and blocking this past Thursday. They will play Naperville North on Tuesday, a rescheduled match against DeKalb on Wednesday, and Naperville Central on Thursday.
Boys’ Water Polo (Tyler Perry)
The boys’ water polo team had two games last week. Their first game was at Neuqua, and the Mustangs kept it close throughout the first half. Ultimately, the Wildcats went on a run and won 18-10. Metea looked to redeem themselves against St. Charles East. The Mustangs completed the redemption and beat the Fighting Saints 12-8. Their next game will be tomorrow against North.
Girls’ Water Polo (Max Berglind)
Girls’ water polo won their game against Saint Charles East last week and have four matchups later this week.
