Emily Veenstra

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. There, I will be studying Lyric Theater.

What are you looking forward to the most after high school?

I am looking forward to performing in productions such as opera and musical theater more often. I am also excited to experience new things such as living on my own.

What are you going to miss most about high school?

I am going to miss band. In college, I do not anticipate playing the flute as much as I do now. I will also miss the teachers I am close with like Mr. Schneider and Mrs. Wrona.

What is a memory you have from Metea?

When I won Mustang Friday this year, I got to take a photo with Dr. Echols. He told me “If I had that hair, I would still be in show business.”

What is some advice you have for the younger grades?

Stop caring so much. Homework, tests, drama, as long as you are doing what you love, it is not that important. Also, if you are thinking about dying your hair, just do it.
