Boys’ Cross Country (Max Berglind)
The Mustangs traveled to Naperville North to compete in the annual Twilight Invitational last Wednesday. Senior Ben Lamsma (16:32) and sophomore Rameez Abrar (16:44) led the way for Metea. The team will travel to Waubonsie for their conference meet next Saturday.
Girls’ Cross Country (Nick Vallejo)
The girls’ competed in the Twilight Invitational this past Wednesday. Metea finished No. 10 with Sarah Maggio getting (17:37) and Keeley Behr (18:10). Their next meet is the Waubonsie Valley Conference meet this Saturday.
Boys’ Football (Nick Vallejo)
The boys’ traveled to Naperville North this past friday. Metea coming from a loss last week while North have won their past two games this season. The game ended with a victory for the home team with a score of 31-28. The Mustangs next game is against Naperville Central this Friday.
Boys’ Golf (Max Berglind)
Three Mustangs traveled to Bloomington to compete in the IHSA (Illinois High School Athletic Association) State tournament this past Saturday. Seniors Arjun Vyas finished 30 overall and Aman Shah 41 overall. Sophomore Kyle Bucher also made it on day one, but did not make the cut for day two, nonetheless gaining vital experience for the future.
Girls’ Golf (Grace Davidson)
The girls’ ended their season, finishing seventh out of 12 teams at sectionals last Monday.
Boys’ Soccer (Grace Davidson)
The Mustangs attended the WarStang Invite against Rockford Boylan last Monday. The boys’ lost 3-2 with goals from junior Daniel Wilkinson and junior Bartosz Chmielewski. They continued the invite with a 2-1 win against Maine South on Wednesday. The teams next match in the invite was against Lemont on Saturday. They pulled out an impressive 3-0 win for their senior day. Their next game was against Naperville Central where they pulled out a 2-1 yesterday. The boys’ will then face West Aurora on Thursday.
Girls’ Swim and Dive (Grace Davidson)
The team faced Naperville Central in a DVC matchup last Tuesday. The Mustangs did not win first in any of the swimming events allowing the Redhawks to dominate with a 135-51 win. The girls’ went on to attend the Titan Relays on Saturday. Metea is hosting their own invite this Friday and Saturday.
Girls’ Tennis (Grace Cronin)
The Mustangs hosted their annual senior night against Wheaton Warrenville South with a tough match ending in a loss of 6-1 last Wednesday. The girls’ next match was their DVC Championship in which they placed fourth last Friday and Saturday. The team has sectionals this Friday.
Girls’ Volleyball (Grace Cronin)
The girls’ went up against Naperville Central winning in two sets of 25-8 and 25-14 last Tuesday. They continued their luck with a match against DeKalb having a two-set win 25-22 and 25-18 on Thursday, putting them 6-0 in the conference. Their next game is against Geneva today.
