Tiya Kumar is a senior here at Metea. She studied abroad in South Korea and is currently involved in the Chinese Honor Society, Madrigals, Muses, and UVE. To learn more about her, keep reading!

Can you describe why you studied abroad?

I wanted to study Korean abroad in South Korea, and I am really interested in learning as many languages as I can.

How did you apply for this program?

It was just an interview and an application process, and once I passed those, the government paid for a full-ride scholarship to study abroad.

How long did you study abroad for?

I left my family for about six weeks.

Would you recommend this experience to others?

Yes definitely. It is definitely a good experience because you are really able to test your independence and get a feel of what it is like to put yourself in unfamiliar situations and really test your flexibility.
