Jannat Hussain is a sophomore at Metea. In school, she is involved in a variety of school activities and events and is active outside of school as well. Keep Reading to learn about her experience at Metea!
What are you involved in at Metea?
I am currently involved in the National English Honors Society, Aspiring Health Professionals, and the Muslim Student Association.
What are your plans for after high school?
My plans for after high school are to go on with four years of college, and then hopefully do something in healthcare.
What is your favorite Metea memory?
One of my favorite Metea memories is when I first participated in the pep assembly. I was only a freshman yet having to participate in the assembly was something way out of my comfort zone. This was my favorite memory because it taught me to be confident in what I decide to do as a student.
If you could go back to the start of high school, what would you tell yourself?
If I could go back to the start of high school and tell my past self something that I wished to know, it would be to broaden my view to achieve new connections.
What do you do to balance your life outside of Metea?
A few things that I do outside of Metea are Track and Field, reading, volunteering at the Children’s DuPage Museum, and being President of the Teen Advisory Board in Eola Public Library. I have been doing Track and Field now for four years. I have always loved reading because it takes my mind away from stress in school. I volunteer at the Children’s DuPage Museum because it is a fun hobby, and I have been President of the Teen Advisory Board since it gives me the experience of having respectable responsibilities.
Is there anyone you would like to shout out?
Someone who has strongly impacted my time at Metea is my brother Jawad Hussain. He is currently a senior at Metea but at the beginning of high school, he taught me how to get around and what to do to achieve a consistent goal of mine of getting good grades. He is one of the many people to always make my day at school, which also impacts my time at Metea because it makes the school a positive environment for me.
What are you looking forward to in your remaining time at Metea?
I am looking forward to becoming a senior at Metea since it gives me a lot more privileges, like being able to leave my lunch period or having senior skip days.
How would you describe your time at Metea?
Being at Metea has been exhilarating and appealing.
