All three football teams lost their away game to Naperville North. Most notable was Varsity’s overtime thriller, where the team fought hard but narrowly lost 40-41. The football unit is set to face off against Naperville Central at home this Friday.
Girls’ Volleyball By Sameen Ali
Girl’s Volleyball kicked off the week with a win against Yorkville on Tuesday. Varsity players played hard during their game, coming out on top after winning their first and third sets 26-24 and 25-22. This past weekend, the team finished first in each of its pool plays at the Willowbrook Invite. The girls won the tournament after defeating Glenbard South 25-19 and 25-13 on Saturday. The Mustangs are currently undefeated at 12-0. This week, the girls have their first home game against Geneva on Wednesday.
Girls’ Tennis By Trinity Powell
This past weekend, Metea’s first team Junior Varsity won its quad at Plainfield East High School. Tomorrow, JV is at home, while Varsity plays away against Naperville North. So far, Varsity and JV 1 and 2 have had one win against South Elgin and one loss against Neuqua, and this upcoming Saturday on September 10, JV 1 is hosting the Rosary Quad at Metea.
Cheer By Kainin Blissett
Cheer performed at Naperville North on Friday to cheer on Varsity Football. This week, they’ll start its Mini Mustang Cheer clinic, where cheerleaders will perform with elementary and middle schoolers at this Friday’s game.
Boys Soccer By Rahul Tamta
Varsity Boys Soccer opened its season with a 2-2 draw at home to Amos Alonzo Stagg High School on Thursday night. Evan Lang and Shareef Amor put the Mustangs up 2-1, but the team unfortunately conceded a last minute free kick goal. Head coach Joshua Robinson was happy with the team’s cohesion and work ethic, but was disappointed that they didn’t win.
