Girls’ Tennis By Trinity Powell
This past week, the girls’ tennis team took two losses, which were a 2-5 loss at Wheaton North on Sept. 13 and one at Waubonsie Valley on Sept. 15, where they lost 3-4. This week, they have two more games against Lake Park and Wheaton Warrenville South.
Girls’ Volleyball By Sameen Ali
This week, girls’ volleyball played against rival Neuqua Valley in their annual Dig Pink game. The sophomores took a two set win, but Varsity lost to the Wildcats after a tough game. Varsity had another two losses against Hinsdale Central and Neuqua at the Wheaton Classic. This weekend, junior Mikaila Dowd was voted the Country Financial High School Athlete of the Month and named to the All-Tournament team at Wheaton Classic. The girls will be away at Naperville North on Tuesday.
Boys’ Soccer By Connor Smith
Varsity boys’ soccer opened the week with a hard fought 0-1 loss in penalty kicks to St. Charles North on Tuesday as part of the annual PepsiCo Showdown. Stellar performances were seen from goalkeeper Kevin Branch and the defense. Both the JV2 and the freshman teams took on Naperville Central this past Wednesday as well. Although JV2 took a 0-1 loss, Freshman won 2-1 with goals scored from Matthew Dovalovsky and Colin Whitson.
Boys’ Football By Kellie Foy
This week, two out of three of Metea’s teams took tough losses against Wheaton North at home. However, Varsity took home their first win of the season, winning 36-7 against the Wheaton North Falcons. The football unit will face Waubonsie Valley for the Battle on Eola Friday night on Warrior Field.

Varsity girls’ golf fell to 3rd place state finishers Wheaton-Warrenville South (152-195) in their tough Tuesday matchup. This week, the Lady Mustangs are set to compete against Plainfield East, Glenbard North, and wrap the week up at the Naperville North Rosie Invite.

This past week, varsity boys’ golf faced a Wheaton-Warrenville South loss (147-159) and gave honorable showings at the Aurora City meet and at Glenbard North. This week, the team faces a jam packed schedule with matches against St. Francis, Benet Academy, Lake Park and the Sterling Invite on Saturday.

The Lady Mustangs dashed their way to 7th place in the Detweiller Park meet with strong races run by seniors Nicki Cast and Leana Goldman. This week, the girls expect to compete in the Aurora Central Catholic Charger Classic on Saturday.

Boys’ cross country saw great performances during the Detweiller Park meet, with a 14th place finish by junior Ralph Papa and a team placement within the top 35 teams who competed. This week, the boys take on the Aurora Central Catholic Charger Classic on Saturday.
