Boys’ Football By Kellie Foy
This week, the varsity football unit took a loss against DVC rival Waubonsie Valley, losing 21-24. However, the sophomore team delivered great defense against the Waubonsie Warriors. They also sadly fell short to the Warriors, the score being 7-0. The three football teams will be facing Lake Park on the Lancer field this week.
Boys’ Soccer By Connor Smith
Despite close games, JV1 and Varsity both lost 0-1 and 0-2 respectively to Naperville Central this past Tuesday. However, both Varsity and JV1 beat Wheaton North 2-1 on Thursday. Varsity goals were scored by Shareef Amor and Alfonso Castillo, with JV1 goals from Adam Bose and Matthew Berry. Strong performances were also seen from the defense. In addition, both Freshman and JV2 played Wheaton North. Freshman tied 2-2, while JV2 got a 1-0 win, featuring a shutout from goalkeeper Ryan Heger.
Girls’ Swim By Jack Heerhold
Girls’ swimming entered their second week of morning weight training while working in the pool this week. They also defeated Wheaton in a meet this week with season best times in nearly every event. They plan to bring their momentum and talent forward in a tough stretch of a season; they are back in action next weekend at the Downers Grove South Invite.
Girls’ Tennis By Brianna Powell
The Lady Mustangs had a strong showing at the Downers Grove North Invite. Taking first overall in the invite, the girls went 12-3, with 1st doubles (Michelle He/Stacy Wei), 2nd doubles (Stephanie Wu/Abbey Woods), and 3rd doubles all going undefeated. The rest of the week saw the Varsity squad beat Lake Park and lose a close match to Wheaton Warrenville South, with great efforts by the doubles teams. This week, they are home against Glenbard North.
Girls’ Golf By Brianna Powell
Varsity beat Plainfield East 197-216. Madison Neihardt led all scorers with a 43 and Sara Lagvankar had a season best match with a 48. This week, the girls take on the DVC in the conference tournament.
Boys’ Golf By Brianna Powell
JV boys and Varsity team won by two strokes Monday night vs. St. Francis at the picturesque Cantigny. The performance saw three Mustangs shoot under 40 and a Matt Loffredo career low of 42. The Varsity Mustangs fell to Lake Park in a heart-breaker, 151-159, that saw a silver lining in a Jack Dziewiatkowski career best even par.
Girls’ Volleyball By Sameen Ali
Girl’s Volleyball began their week with a 25-23 and 25-20 win in their game against Naperville North on Tuesday, making them 1-1 in conference. On Friday, the girls were away at Waubonsie where they won their first game of the night 25-15 and 25-19. They beat Rosary in their second game, winning two of their sets 25-15 and 25-21 and finishing first in their pool. On Saturday, Varsity beat Yorkville 25-16 and 25-13 and advanced to the semifinals of the Gold Bracket where they took a two set win against Neuqua, but then lost the championship match against Downers Grove North when the opposing team won all three sets. The Lady Mustangs have their next match on Tuesday, when they’ll be playing against Naperville Central at home.

The Lady Mustangs had a slew of success during the Aurora Catholic Central Charger Classic. Both the Freshman/Sophomore team and the varsity team took first place finishes accompanied with top 15 finishes by Leana Goldman, Nicki Cast, Terri Scarlett, Megan Fichte, and Katie North.

Once again, the boys’ cross country team saw success this weekend at the Aurora Catholic Central Classic. Marked by a top 10 team finish, the team looks to continue the strong season at St. Charles North Invite this weekend.
