Boys’ Basketball By Connor Smith
This past Friday, the varsity boys took a tough 62-79 loss to Wheaton North at home. Despite the loss, the team remains competitive and has shown great chemistry so far this season, led by the likes of seniors Ashton Creal and Jeremy Hunter. This week, the boys have their last game before the holiday break as they’ll take on Wheaton-Warrenville South at home on Tuesday, followed by the annual Jack Tosh Holiday Classic, which kicks off Dec. 26 at York Community High School in Elmhurst.
Girls’ Basketball By Kellie Foy
The sophomore girls basketball team had a tournament at St. Francis High School this past weekend. The team lost its first game which put them in the lower bracket where the team won its next two games. However, the team lost the conciliation championship to Thornton Fractional North High School. On Tuesday, the varsity team fell short to Naperville Central 41-51. Their next game is Jan. 3 against Wheaton-Warrenville South at home. The team plays Glenbard North on Jan. 5 at home and January 10 at Lake Park High School.
Wrestling By Peter Hinds
The wrestling team lost to Wheaton North on Friday, but went 2-1 against Geneva, Moline and Maris High School, winning against Geneva and Maris while taking a tough loss against Moline. The team returns to practice today.
Girls’ Bowling By Maddie Crabtree
The team was inactive this week, but will attend the Reavis Varsity tournament on Dec. 26 and the PSHS Cougar Invite on Dec. 27.
Cheer By Kainin Blissett
This Friday, varsity Cheer attended a competition at Oswego East, where they placed eighth. Junior varsity competed on Sunday, and placed second.
Boys’ Swim and Dive By Zainie Qureshi
Last Tuesday, the team swam against Wheaton’s co-op team, and managed to place high in every event. On Saturday, varsity swam in the Neuqua invite, coming in sixth place overall. This past Friday, Metea hosted a freshman-sophomore invite, where Metea took fourth place, while Naperville Central took first overall.
Boys’ Hockey By Brittany Coates
Yesterday, both JV and varsity played Glenbard North at home. Junior varsity won 6-4, while varsity lost 5-8.
Gymnastics By Ethan Meyers
The Gymnastics club attended the Illinois Best Invitational on Saturday. The team got sixth overall with the help standout performances, including sophomore Thera Brown (fourth on vault).
