What made you decide to plan the English Department twin day outfit?
I am a big fan of spirit weeks; I go all in. And I know that a lot of times teachers don't because they don't have the ideas, and they don't want to spend more money on it, they don't want to do extra, so when I was thinking about Twin Day, I thought, like, why not find something that everyone can be a part of? So I can easily buy headbands for everybody and just have everyone engage. And also, it's more fun when you twin with more people, because then the kids start to see, like, oh, wait, you're twinning with so and so and so and so, instead of just one person.
Why is it important for students to participate in spirit days?
I think it's important for everyone to get involved with spirit days. I think you get to be in school for such a short period of time, and you get to do these things like, I know my friends who do not work in the school don't have the opportunities to dress kind of ridiculous and like a fool, and I think you only have such a small amount of time here, why not just kind of lean into it, enjoy it, and be a part of it.
