I am also on the spectrum. What I like to do during these assemblies is stand/kneel/etc near the doorway, near the teachers. There, I can leave on a whim while still being in the supervising area of the teachers. Seek me out before the next assembly and I’ll show you what I mean
I personally wish they made assemblies optional. For me, loud crowds are overstimulating and stressful (mainly because I am on the autism spectrum), so I would really benefit if I at the least could duck in and out of assemblies so I don’t get too stressed by them.
