Girls’ Basketball (Jose Collado)

The girls’ basketball team started off the season with a 3-1 record in the Brenda Whitesell Invitational. They started with a tough 44-41 loss to Addison Trail, which saw them lose an early lead after Addison Trail went on a 10-1 run in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs bounced back with a 35-34 win over OPRF on Saturday behind a big performance from junior Amelia Szczesny. They had another one-point win over Hinsdale Central on Monday and followed that up with a 43-36 win over Jones Prep on Friday behind 17 points from junior Jada Samuels. The Mustangs play again tomorrow at Glenbard North at 7:15 p.m.

Boys’ Basketball (Tyler Perry)

The boys’ basketball team played in their opening week at the Wheaton Academy tournament. They played St. Francis High School on Saturday where they lost a tough one to 38-60. Their next game will be tomorrow in East Aurora at 6:30 p.m. The Mustangs’ first home game will be on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. against Glenbard West.

Girls’ Bowling (Tyler Perry)

The girls’ bowling team had their season debut in Schaumburg on Saturday morning. They came in third place and have three upcoming games this week. They will start the week off with a home game against Plainfield East.

Girls’ Gymnastics (Leland Pan)

The varsity team went to their first meet of the season against Hinsdale South. The team scored 132.9 and placed third overall. Thalia Bowen placed first, Thera Bowen placed second, and Destiny Carter placed sixth on Vault. Stephanie Svec placed third on Bars. Thalia Bowen placed seventh on Beam. Thera Bowen placed second, Destiny Carter placed 9th, and Stephanie Svec placed 10th on Floor. Svec placed 8th and Thalia Bowen placed 5th in the All-Around. The girls will travel to Naperville North on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Boys’ Hockey (Elena Buscher)

The Warriors played in the Carillon Cup Semi-Finals on Thursday, November 21st, winning against Naperville Central 6-0. They then played Naperville North on Saturday, November 23rd, losing 3-7. Over Thanksgiving Break, the team played multiple games including a loss to Naperville North on November 23rd and a victory over the DuPage Stars on the 24th. On the 26th, the varsity team won the Carillon Cup Finals against Neuqua Valley. This past weekend they competed in the Stevenson Thanksgiving Tournament, finishing 3-0 and bringing them to the semi-finals. On Sunday, they lost to New Trier in the semi-finals. Their next game is Saturday against Sandburg at 7:55 p.m.

Special Olympics (Leland Pan)

The Unified and Traditional team did not have any games during Thanksgiving Break. The Traditional team will travel to Neuqua on Thursday. The Unified Team will be hosting Andrew next Monday at 5:30 p.m. 

Boys’ Wrestling (Alex Bedore)

The wrestling team participated in their first meet, the Batavia Open, at Wheeling High School on Wednesday. They won in a comeback win 48-36. Their next meet is against York High School at Metea on Tuesday at 5:30 PM.

Girls’ Swim and Dive (Elena Buscher)

The swim team swam Friday and Saturday at the IHSA State Tournament at New Trier High School. In the finals, the 200 medley relay placed seventh, the 400 free relay placed fourth, the 200 free relay placed second. Senior Aimee Patterson placed 12th in the 50 free. Junior McKenna Stone finished in first place in the 100 fly. The team finished up their season placing fifth overall.
