We asked students what they thought about District 204’s policy change into mask optional that went into effect on Feb. 22.

Masks have been a highly controversial topic since the first mask mandate due to the coronavirus. Some students feel that masks hold big importance in keeping us safe, while others feel that they hold little importance.

District 204’s mask optional policy went into effect on Feb. 22. This allowed students and staff to choose whether or not they wear a mask in the school building. Recently, the state of Illinois ended their mask mandate on Feb. 28. So, we asked students what their thoughts were on the policy were and should masks been made optional at Metea Valley.
