Erykah is renowned for her lyrical and spiritual presence when creating her music or being featured on tracks. “A.D. 2000” is one of those songs that speaks to the nature of finding peace when the weather is nice, or when things are beginning to change for something better than the current state, and that is the essential spirit of autumn. If there’s anything that encapsulates fall, it’s Erykah Badu.

Girl in Red – We Fell In Love In October
Gives me fall vibes, and I find love songs to be so calming to listen to. The whole song tells a cool story, which is something that really brings the soul of fall to the song, sharing a tale with someone either close or newly met.

Perfect fall song because it came out in October 2023, and everybody who listens to it says that it takes them back to the fall of that year. Drake has tried to claim himself as the king of the fall season with a lot of his projects, and with his birthday residing in October, a lot of his music and vibe come across as autumn spices with exceptional flavor.

The song works well in creating a feeling of warmth, tinged with sadness atmosphere reminiscent of a slowly spreading spark of warmth, as we let go of summer and find comfort in the coziness of autumn.

The Neighborhood – Sweater Weather
The fall season brings a lot; a favorite for some is the nice breezy weather that puts the hot summer days to rest. Layers of jackets, fleece, and, of course, sweaters accompany the rush of leaves falling and seasonal festivities to keep warm throughout! Sweater Weather is a light, catchy romantic song to listen to on those brisk walks, accompanied with warm cider, and of course, a cozy sweater.

This song reminds me of fall because it has an organ piano that reminds me of a dark, abandoned house feeling. The vocals feel like rocking in a ship while looking towards grey skies and wondering what lies ahead for a voyage or journey. It’s mildly haunting, but mildly comforting. The perfect autumn blend of emotions, in my opinion. (P.S., it also reminds me of vampires.)

This light trumpet, lo-fi-esque, groovy track is something that I feel makes the autumn season what it’s supposed to be. A time to settle down, a time to dwindle and enjoy your time for more than just a moment, but for a lifetime. If there was anything that felt like autumn, this would have to be it.
