Now settling in at our third month of remote learning, we have all most likely gone through at least one SEL lesson. SEL stands for social-emotional learning which brings awareness and teaches students elements within mental health such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and positive decision making. Metea has implemented many resources like guidance counselors, social workers, a mental health coordinator, websites, and lessons. With these new resources, it is great that Metea is beginning to bring awareness to mental health and are achieving in some aspects. Yet, there are some factors that still fall short.
