Weekly Sports Update 3/8-3/15

Badminton (Grace Davidson)

The girls faced Naperville Central and lost by a final of 10 matches to three on Thursday. They have the DVC doubles tournament this Friday followed by the DVC singles tournament on Saturday.

Boys’ Basketball (Tyler Perry)

The boys’ basketball team finished up the regular season last week and had four games over the stretch. They started off their week playing against North, and the Mustangs lost the second matchup 48-20. Central was up next, but lost to the Redhawks 65-51. The Mustangs redeemed themselves the next day as they won against Oswego for the last game of the season.

Girls’ Basketball (Grace Davidson)

The girls scored a win against Naperville Central 64-59 on Friday. They ended this year’s basketball season with yet another win over Rosary on Saturday 46-43.

Girls’ Bowling (Tyler Perry)

The girls’ bowling team also finished up their regular season last week. The Mustangs started off the week with a big win against Lake Park as Junior Sydney Lewis threw for a 700 series. The next day, the Mustang seniors enjoyed their senior night with a win against North by a score of 3021-2235. The next matchup was against the Redhawks, and the Mustangs kept their DVC winning streak as they rolled through Central. Saturday was big for Metea because the black and gold had their DVC championship as well as IHSA State. The Mustangs finished Saturday with not only a DVC championship win, but they also finished first in sectionals.

Dance (Grace Davidson)

The girls made Mustang history by qualifying for state this year. They ended their season with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) state performance last Saturday. 

Girls’ Gymnastics (Grace Davidson)

The girls concluded this season with their DVC meet on Friday, ending with an overall score of 126.15. One highlight from the meet was freshman Hailey Mitchell who placed sixth on beam.
