Weekly Sports Update 5/4-5/10

Boys’ Baseball (Max Berglind)

The boys’ baseball team won their series against Neuqua Valley last week and won against Lincoln Way-East this past Saturday. They start their three-game set against Naperville North on Monday.

Girls’ Lacrosse (Max Berglind)

The girls’ lacrosse team had two games last week and have three this week. One will be against Huntley on Monday, another against Naperville North on Wednesday, and the final one being against Neuqua on Friday.

 Girls’ Soccer (Grace Davidson)

The girls lost their first match of the week 2-1 against Naperville North in an overtime DVC game. The team came up short during their next game against Naperville Central, losing 3-0. The last game of the week was against Barlett. The girls pulled out a 2-1 win, both goals scored by Tyra King. The girls go up against DeKalb on Tuesday and against Waubonsie on Thursday. They end the week with an away game facing Batavia. 

Girls’ Softball (Max Berglind)

The softball team won one of three games last week, with the one victory coming against Naperville North by a score of 7-3. They have three games this week, the first is at Central on Monday, the next is at DeKalb on Tuesday, and another at home against Wabounsie on Thursday. 

Boys’ Tennis (Max Berglind)

The boys’ tennis team will travel to Wheaton Academy on Monday, then come back home and play Naperville North on Thursday, and head to Palatine for an invitational on Friday and Saturday. 

Boys Track and Field (Tyler Perry)

The boys’ track and field team participated in the Gus Scott Invite last Friday and Saturday. Jalen Johnson led the way in the 110m and 300m hurdles as he placed first in both races. In shot put, Jake Paulline placed third as he threw for 12.54m. Xavier London finished in second place for the high jump. Metea will be back in action this weekend at Wheaton North.

Girls Track and Field (Grace Davidson)

The girls placed 10th overall at the Gus Scott Invite. The girls face Naperville North and Naperville Central at their next meet on Saturday. 

 Boys Volleyball (Tyler Perry)

The boys’ volleyball team had two matches last week. Their first match was against Wheaton North as the boys fell 2-0. Metea would be met with the same fate in their next game against Waubonsie. The next match for the Mustangs is tomorrow at Neuqua.
