Girls’ Swim and Dive (Grace Davidson)

The Mustangs attended state this past Saturday. Sophomore Allison Leslie placed No. 19 overall in the 50 free. Junior Amanda Schmitt landed No. 15 in the 100 butterfly. The girls 200 Medley Relay team with junior Halle Reifsnyder, senior Madeline Walbridge, Schmitt, and Leslie ended up No. 17 overall. 

Girls’ Volleyball (Grace Cronin)

The girls’ traveled to Illinois State University arena for the history-setting semi-finals match against Barrington last Friday. This nerve-racking game that would determine the contender for the finals proved Metea’s strengths in the two-set game. The girls were able to pull through winning 25-23 and 25-13 earning them a spot in the finals against Mother McAuley. The finals proved to be just a nail-biter as the semi-finals with the first set ending with a win towards Mother McAuley 25-15 last Saturday. Going into the second set, Metea showed the power they held, ending the match with a win of 25-18, leaving the third set the decider for who would be crowned champions. The girls ended on top with the final set win of 25-17 naming them 4A state champions for the first time in school history and ending their season.
