Weekly Sports Beats 4/18-4/24

Girls’ Badminton (Grace Cronin)

The girls’ competed at the Lake Park East quad last Monday. Their next match was a tough one against Naperville North where they lost 8-7 on Tuesday. The Mustangs then competed against Naperville Central where they excelled winning 11-4 on Thursday. They finished off their week competing in the Hinsdale South Invite where they took first place on Saturday.

Boys’ Baseball (Nick Vallejo)

The boys’ had no games this weekend due to heavy rain and flooding of the outfield. The Mustangs next game is at home against Neuqua Valley today. 

Boys’ Lacrosse (Grace Davidson)

The boys’ next game is against Naperville North this Wednesday. 

Girls’ Lacrosse (Grace Davidson)

The Mustangs lost against Wheaton Warrenville South last Monday 9-7. The girls were able to pull in a win last week against Glenbard West with a final score of 12-7. Their next games are against Montini today, Naperville North on Wednesday, and Mother McAuley on Thursday. 

Girls’ Soccer (Grace Davidson)

The team had an exciting weekend, pulling out a 3-2 victory over Batavia on their senior night this past Saturday. They face Neuqua today and take a short break before facing Naperville North next Tuesday. 

Girls’ Softball (Grace Cronin)

The girls’ started their week playing against Neuqa where they lost 5-0 on Tuesday. Their next game was another tough one against Waubonsie, losing 12-11 on Wednesday.  They finished off their week playing against Naperville North on Thursday and Addison Trail on Saturday, they lost both games. Their next game is against Naperville Central today.

Boys’ Tennis (Max Berglind)

This past week, the team won twice. After snagging a win against conference DVC rival Neuqua on Thursday, a huge win against St. Charles East came the next day.

Boys’ Track and Field (Grace Cronin)

The team competed at the Waubonsie quad meet on Tuesday. Their next meet was the Wheaton Warrenville South Red Grange Invite where they finished 16 in varsity class A, 10 in varsity class B, and 11 in varsity class C on Friday. The boys’ next meet is against Oswego East next Friday.

Girls’ Track and Field (Grace Davidson)

The girls’ next meet is against Neuqua Valley this Tuesday and then they have the DVC Conference Championship on May 5. 

Boys’ Volleyball (Max Berglind)

The Mustangs swept the previous week, knocking off South Elgin on Monday and Waubonsie on Thursday in 2-0 sweeps on the road. They have home games this week on Monday against Neuqua Valley and Wednesday against Benet. They then wrapped up their week with a game at Naperville North on Thursday.

Boys’ Water Polo (Grace Cronin)

The boys’ lost to Naperville Central 15-3 last Tuesday. Their next game was a tournament on Friday and Saturday. The team finished undefeated on Saturday. Their next game is against Schaumburg today.

Girls’ Water Polo (Grace Davidson)

The Mustangs won 17-6 against Neuqua Valley in the Valley Varsity Tournament on Friday and won 12-4 against Jones and 12-2 against Bradley-Bourbonnais on Saturday. They face Schaumburg today, have the senior night against Hinsdale on Thursday, and have three matches at Prospect  on Friday and Saturday.
