Boys’ Varsity Tennis this season has been on fire with an 11-3 record and first place in the DVC  “Our tennis team is doing fantastic so far this season. Our lineup is stacked with talent and all of the spots in our roster are held by strong players from a wide variety of grade levels.” sophomore Mihir Ayra said.

In sports, successful teams often have immaculate chemistry with one another and that is the case with the Tennis team this year.

“One of the things I love the most about our team is the chemistry. We all care about one another and love motivating each other to do better during both practice and matches. Of course, our whole team is extremely hilarious and it is always so much fun spending time with each other. Without our strong chemistry, I do not think our gameplay would be as strong as it currently is.” Mihir Ayra said.

Ayra mentions that his biggest contribution to the team is his service.

“My serve works as a brutal weapon against my opponents and I can use a variety of strategies to throw them off with this special tool of mine,” Ayra said.

“Apart from the physical aspects, my fighting mentality is a huge strength for my game. While I have not lost many matches in my two years of playing varsity tennis for Metea, I have not lost these few matches without a fight. I may be down, I may be tested, but in the end, I find a way to bounce back.” said Ayra about the mental side of being on varsity Tennis.

The team’s next game is on May 16 at York high school at 4.
