Music students performed at the annual Collage Concert last Thursday and Friday.
“Collage was such a remarkable experience for me,” freshman Claire Tracy said.
The Collage Concert features performances from band, choir, orchestra, and other extracurricular music groups. With constant music from start to finish, it is much more immersive than most other shows.
“It is meant to be both a musical and visual show, so it is different [from] anything else we do,” Junior Ava Hensley said.
Many groups perform Christmas or holiday songs. Before the show starts, the choir group Madrigals performs carols. Once the audience is inside the auditorium, they witness a full 90 minutes of music.
At the end, all the performers come together for the finale.
“I loved seeing my friends in band and orchestra and just seeing them perform all together in the finale,” Tracy said.
The Collage Concert is extremely popular and is known for being difficult to get tickets to. Every year, students and families outside of the Metea music program come to watch.
“I think everyone expects it to be amazing, but then when it’s all put together, it blows the audience away,” Tracy said.
The experience is exciting for the audience and the performers. Collage is known for being one of the most fun shows of the school year for the music students.
“I love collage!” Hensley said. “It was fun and super successful this year.”
