• LGBTQIA+ rights: Signed into the law Respect for Marriage Act (legislation that protects same-sex and interracial marriages). He calls upon Congress to pass the Equality Act (a bill to prohibit discrimination based on sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation in the workplace, housing, health care, and service industries).
• Israel and Palestine: “We stand firmly with the Israeli people as they defend themselves against the murderous nihilism of Hamas…This much is clear: A two-state solution is the only way to ensure the long-term security of both the Israeli and Palestinian people.”
• Climate change: During his presidency, Biden’s environmental agenda has included investing billions in green infrastructure and renewable energy, and establishing protections for land and water in the U.S. but still approved the Willow oil drilling project.
• Abortion rights: Supports access to abortion and has called on Congress to codify protections for the right to abortion that were guaranteed by Roe. He has said he would veto any legislation that would ban abortions federally.
