Girls’ Tennis

This week at the IHSA state tournament, Maddie Matty (Sr.) and Michelle He (Jr.) competed in the doubles brackets. The pair lost its first round to St. Thomas More from Champaign 5-7, 5-7, won its second round 6-1, 6-0 against Jacobs of Algonquin, won its third round against Marquette from Alton 6-1, 6-0, and finally lost to Waubonsie Valley in the fourth round 2-6, 2-6. State marks the end of tennis season, but the future looks bright. “Next year should be a good year for team as there will  be 6 juniors returning. [We just need to] keep up the hard work in the off season and maintain a positive attitude even during the rough matches,” Matty said.
