What is Young Life?

It is a Christian-based organization and we meet every Monday and Wednesday, play games, and have fun. Then, we usually listen to a good message by one of our leaders.

How did you decide to become a Young Life leader?

I started coming to Young Life my sophomore year, and I’ve had so many great leaders before me, like Andrew Betbadal. I saw the impact that he made on other people and myself, and I want to help other people with that change.

What do you think it means to be a Young Life leader?

It means just being there for people if they need to talk or just have questions.

What types of responsibilities do you have as a Young Life leader?

I help create lessons, and will talk during club or campaigner’s meetings.

What is your most memorable experience of being involved in Young Life?

I did work crew, so I worked at a Young Life camp for a month in Oregon and I met some awesome people. I was doing housekeeping and a lot of cleaning, it was a great community of people and I am still close with everyone from the camp.

Do you have any other special plans you want to incorporate as leaders for the rest of the year?

We’re having a big event on Oct. 14, where Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and anyone involved in any sort of youth group can come, we’re still working on a title, but you will hear about it soon.
