YouTubers raise awareness about mental illness

YouTubers+raise+awareness+about+mental+illness

42.5 million people in America have been diagnosed with a mental illness, though these illnesses are often hidden and not something that can be seen on an x-ray or even the pages within our health textbooks.

A handful of talented YouTubers are trying to raise awareness about the everyday battles people with mental illness are forced to fight.

If you or someone you love is struggling with mental illness, help is out there. Students are encouraged to talk with their guidance counselor or social worker in their class house. You can also call the National Alliance on Mental Illness hotline at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264).

Glad to see they are starting the conversation. I struggle with depression and anxiety, it slows me down everyday and keeps me from doing easy tasks. For example, I like to draw. I have a fear of drawing in public due to the fear of people watching and judging me and how I’m drawing. Thank you for writing about this. 🙂
